SEE HOW THE AUTO-PRIMING PUMP WORKS
Stowers provides its customers with Sykes pumps built by AmeriPumps. Units are available in diesel, electric, and hydraulic submersible. The video shown below demonstrates how the Sykes pump's auto-priming feature operates. First, a vacuum pump creates a vacuum in the pump. As the pump is primed, liquid lifts a float that vents the vacuum to the atmosphere. When the pump loses its prime, the float drops and the process starts over.
